Terms and conditions

Schools decide what they record and share; families see what their school shares with them, for free; we keep toddlepath running and the information in it safe.
These terms
These terms are the agreement between toddlepath and everyone who uses it: schools, their staff, and families. By creating an account or using toddlepath, you accept them. Our privacy policy explains how we look after information, and is part of these terms.
Accounts
- A school is set up by toddlepath with the school, and its owner and administrators invite their staff and families.
- Families join when their school invites them, or start an account of their own.
- Keep your password and sign-in codes to yourself, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
- You are responsible for what is done through your account. Give your school and us true details, and keep them up to date.
Schools
- The school decides what it records about its children, who among its staff sees what, and what it shares with each family, and is responsible for having the right to do so, including any consent needed from families.
- Each school has one owner, who decides who its administrators are. The school is responsible for its staff’s use of toddlepath.
- Records about a child belong to the school and the child’s family. We look after them for the school, as our privacy policy describes.
Families
toddlepath is free for families. You see what your child’s school shares with you, and you may keep your own details for your child, such as their health card, and choose which schools see them. Please use what you see about other children, such as a class photo, only within your family.
Payments
- Schools pay for text messages and AI help with credits, bought in the app with Mobile Money or card through our payment provider. Prices are shown before you pay, and every purchase has a receipt.
- Credits are used as texts are sent and AI help is asked for. Credits end on the date shown in the app, and are not refunded once used or ended, unless the law says otherwise.
- Anything else a school pays for is agreed with the school in writing.
Using toddlepath well
Do not use toddlepath to:
- harm, harass or put a child or anyone else at risk;
- share anything unlawful, or anything that is not yours to share;
- get into accounts, schools or parts of toddlepath that are not yours, or try to break or overload it;
- copy toddlepath, or use it to build something that competes with it.
If we believe a child is at risk, we may share what we know with the school or the authorities.
Our part
We work to keep toddlepath running, safe and up to date, and we may improve or change it over time. When a change takes something away that schools rely on, we tell them first. Sometimes toddlepath may be unavailable for a short time, for upgrades or reasons outside our control; we keep these as short and as rare as we can.
Pausing and closing
A school can stop using toddlepath at any time. We may pause a school or an account that breaks these terms, or puts children or others at risk, and we will say why. When a school stops using toddlepath, we delete its information as our privacy policy describes.
Responsibility
toddlepath helps schools and families stay connected; it does not replace a school’s own care, judgement or duties. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from how a school or family uses toddlepath, or from things outside our control, and our responsibility to a school is limited to what it paid us in the twelve months before. Nothing in these terms limits anything the law does not allow us to limit.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell schools and families in the app before it takes effect. Using toddlepath after that means you accept the new terms.
The law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana can settle any dispute about them. If you have a concern, please write to us first: most things are settled quickly that way.
